This is really exciting for someone who has used on line learning methods for a number of years.
It could really offer an opportunity for NZ teachers to upskill in ways that will make their lives easier as teachers in the long run.
What I'm hoping is:
Teachers use this time as an opportunity to interact one-to-one with students for sustained periods of time.
Teachers learn to use technology to make their job easier - Zoom, You Tube, on line classrooms and so so so much more!!
Teachers offer students lots of different choices and allow them plenty of time to explore options.
Teachers allow students to offer their own ideas about learning from home.
Teachers learn to connect the 'curriculum' to projects that children at doing at home - could be playing, cooking, lego, Minecraft, reading, etc etc etc.
